Disaster Overview : On May 11, 2017, the Ministry of Health of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) informed the World Health Organization (WHO) about an Ebola outbreak in the Likati Health Zone, Province of Bas-Uélé. This was the eighth Ebola outbreak in the DRC since 1976. By May 24, 2017, WHO had issued a donor alert requesting $10.5M to support the government and coordinate international efforts. The outbreak was declared over on July 2, 2017, after 42 days without new confirmed cases.
