Disaster Overview : Zimbabwe is experiencing a significant increase in malaria cases since March 2020. By May, the number of malaria cases exceeded 260,000 with nearly 250 deaths recorded. The most affected regions are Mashonaland East and Central provinces, with a 220% increase in cases compared to the same period in 2019. The outbreak has been steadily worsening, with health facilities continuing to report new cases.
