Disaster Overview : In October 2011, the Central African Republic experienced a cholera outbreak that affected several villages including Sékia Moté, Bokélo, Mondoli, Monza, Bokassi, Nzinga, and Sedale. The government declared an epidemic after the initial outbreak led to multiple cases and deaths. By mid-October, the total number of cases rose to 172, with 16 fatalities.
