Disaster Overview : On 23 February 2018, the Uganda Ministry of Health reported an outbreak of cholera in various districts, including Kyangwali refugee settlement. The outbreak, which began on 15 February, affected mainly newly arrived refugees and some host community members. As of 23 February, there were 700 suspected cases and 27 deaths. The situation worsened throughout the year, with cases reported in districts like Kampala, Mbale, and Kween.
