Disaster Overview : Sri Lanka is facing a severe dengue outbreak between January and August 2019, with a significant increase in cases during the months of May to July. This outbreak is coinciding with the south-western monsoon season. By early August, a total of 35,267 confirmed cases and 58 deaths had been reported across various districts, including Colombo, Gampaha, and Galle.
