Disaster Overview : Since July 2023, Tanzania has been grappling with a severe cholera outbreak that has spread across multiple regions, including Arusha, Kigoma, and Mara. The outbreak has led to significant illness and fatalities, primarily affecting women and young adults. As of November 2023, over 1,500 cases and 34 deaths have been recorded across 13 regions, with Mara, Kigoma, Arusha, Kilimanjaro, and Dodoma among the worst hit. The World Health Organization and local health authorities have been working to contain and manage the outbreak.
