Disaster Overview : On January 3, 2009, the Low Pressure Area (LPA) east of Mindanao developed into Tropical Depression 'Auring'. This caused severe flash floods affecting areas including Bukidnon, Camiguin, Misamis Occidental, Misamis Oriental, and Lanao del Norte. The floods displaced thousands of families and caused significant damage to agriculture and infrastructure, particularly in Cagayan de Oro and Gingoog City.
