Disaster Overview : On July 2, 2022, at 02:02 am local time, a 6.1 magnitude earthquake hit Sayeh Khosh village near Khamir port in Hormozgan province of South Iran. The major quake was followed by 81 aftershocks, with the strongest one also registering 6.1 on the Richter scale. The seismic event resulted in significant damage across one city and 55 villages, severely affecting approximately 5,318 households.
