Initially forming as a low-pressure area in the Philippine Sea, it developed into a tropical depression and then intensified into a tropical storm named Kompasu. The storm merged with another tropical depression, leading to severe weather impacts in the Philippines, where it caused significant flooding, landslides, and widespread displacement.
