Disaster Overview : On January 27, 2019, a powerful EF4 tornado struck Cuba with winds reaching up to 300 km/h. This catastrophic event primarily affected several municipalities in Havana, resulting in significant devastation. Among the damages, four fatalities and 195 injuries were reported, with over 1,200 homes affected. Several public services, including health institutions and schools, also faced considerable damage. The tornado severely disrupted electricity and water services, affecting hundreds of thousands of inhabitants.
