Disaster Overview : On March 30, 2012, torrential rains from Tropical Depression TD17F led to devastating floods in the Western Division of Fiji. This natural disaster resulted in the deaths of four individuals and the displacement of 15,000 people. The floods caused significant infrastructural damage, affecting schools, homes, businesses, and agricultural lands. Power and electricity disruptions further exacerbated the situation, impacting approximately 150,000 residents. In response to this calamity, a State of Natural Disaster was declared for parts of western Fiji.
