Disaster Overview : A cholera outbreak was declared in Mozambique on 27 March 2019, affecting districts in Sofala Province, including Beira City, Buzi, Dondo, and Nhamatanda. Over 6,700 cholera cases and 8 deaths were reported by early May 2019. The outbreak is linked to the aftermath of Cyclone Idai, which also led to an increase in acute watery diarrhoea and malaria cases.
