Disaster Overview : In June 2012, Indonesia experienced unseasonal heavy rains due to the effects of tropical cyclone Guchol in the southwest Pacific. These rains led to the swelling and bursting of riverbanks, resulting in floods that submerged crop fields and houses. Additionally, the heavy rains triggered significant landslides, impacting a total of 975 people. The situation worsened in July, with continuous rains causing further floods, landslides, and whirlwinds, affecting over 4,000 individuals.
