Disaster Overview : In January 2013, Uganda confirmed a measles outbreak in the Hoima district, which subsequently spread to Kyenjojo, Isingiro, Mubende, and Kamwenge by August. A total of 57 cases and two deaths were recorded by mid-August, escalating to 129 cases by early October. Measles supplementary immunization activities and routine immunization practices were intensified to control the outbreak, successfully reducing the number of cases in the affected districts. The response operation concluded by December 2013 and included a comprehensive impact assessment.
