Disaster Overview : In July 2021, Kazakhstan experienced a severe drought due to a prolonged heatwave that began in June. The abnormal temperatures reached up to 46.5℃ in the southern and western regions, significantly higher than the average of 28.3℃. This extreme heat and arid conditions have devastated livestock farms, exhausted water and feed reserves, and caused a mass death of animals and destruction of crops, posing a severe threat to the local population reliant on animal husbandry.
