Disaster Overview : In July 2007, Timor-Leste experienced devastating floods and landslides caused by incessant rainfall. The disaster severely impacted six districts: Suai, Same, Manatutu, Viqueque, and Ermera. A total of 947 people, including 243 families, were affected, with significant damage to homes, livelihoods, and crops. The flooding contaminated deep wells, and landslides destroyed several houses. The aftermath saw the spread of diseases such as diarrhea, malaria, and dengue, particularly in Suai and neighboring districts.
