Disaster Overview : Since the beginning of the year, Bolivia has been experiencing severe rainfall influenced by the El Niño phenomenon. These rains have resulted in overflowing rivers and floods across various regions, including Alto Beni, Palos Blancos, Guanay, Rurrenabaque, Riberalta, Villa Montes, Cutaiqui, San Borja, and San Buenaventura. The Bolivian Government declared a national emergency on February 27, followed by specific emergency declarations for the departments of Potosí, La Paz, Chuquisaca, Santa Cruz, and Cochabamba on April 10. This widespread flooding has led to considerable loss of life and property.
