Disaster Overview : In May 2002, Tropical Cyclone Kesiny made landfall north of Vohemar in Madagascar, bringing heavy rains and strong winds. The cyclone impacted the provinces of Antsiranana and Toamasina, drastically affecting infrastructure and agricultural lands. Moving southwestward, the cyclone caused significant damage before dissipating.
