Disaster Overview : In July 2011, heavy rains led to severe flooding in the municipalities of Lokossa, Athiémé, Bopa, and Cotonou Littoral in Benin. The floods resulted in the collapse of dozens of huts made of black earth, affecting approximately 500 households in inaccessible areas. Additionally, the flooding caused significant damage to poultry, livestock, and destroyed many hectares of farmland and crops.
