Disaster Overview : In June 2011, Brazil experienced severe weather conditions leading to heavy rains, flooding, and landslides that heavily impacted various regions of the country. The northern state of Roraima saw over 355,000 people affected, while the north-eastern states of Pernambuco and Paraíba had to evacuate 13,000 residents due to landslides and overflowing rivers. Additionally, 51,000 individuals in the southern state of Rio Grande do Sul were also affected by continuous heavy rains.
