Disaster Overview : In the latter part of August and September 2012, Cameroon faced severe flooding due to heavy rains. This led to the declaration of flood emergencies in the North and Far North regions of the country. By mid-October, additional flooding occurred around the Logone and Chari Department along the northern border with Chad. Water levels began to recede by early November, and by January 2013, nearly half of the displaced individuals had returned to their homes.
