Disaster Overview : On the night of 18 September 2012, a severe storm struck Paraguay, causing widespread damage. The storm particularly impacted the municipality of Mariano Roque Alonso in the Central department and affected homes and crops in the Ñeembucu department as well as other regions of southern Paraguay. The disaster resulted in the deaths of five individuals, left approximately 100 people injured, and affected more than 2,900 families.
