Disaster Overview : In late February 2013, heavy rainfall led to severe flooding across several regions of North Macedonia. The torrential rains from February 23 to February 26, 2013, resulted in the breaching and damage of several dams. This natural disaster caused significant destruction to infrastructure, agricultural fields, and residential properties. It is estimated that more than 1,600 families were heavily affected by the floods.
