Disaster Overview : During the Long Rains season of 2013, Kenya experienced torrential rainfall that led to severe flooding in various regions. The floods, which occurred between March and May, hit hardest in the provinces of Marsabit, Isiolo, Narok, Kajiado in the south, and Tana River. The flooding displaced more than 140,000 people and resulted in 96 recorded deaths.
