Disaster Overview : On 14 May 2013, Cyclone Mahasen wreaked havoc across South Asia, notably impacting Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Myanmar, and parts of India. The storm led to heavy rains, landslides, and significant displacement of populations. Cyclone Mahasen made landfall in southern Bangladesh on 16 May, causing widespread destruction, affecting almost 1.5 million people, and resulting in numerous fatalities and extensive property damage.
