Disaster Overview : Starting from late March 2015 and continuing into April, Somalia experienced significant flooding due to seasonal Gu rains. The flooding, particularly severe in the southern and central regions as well as parts of the north, displaced 16,000 people by late May. The high water levels in the Shabelle river led to major displacements and agricultural damage.
