Disaster Overview : In September 2015, continuous heavy rain in southern Sri Lanka led to severe floods and landslides, initially causing eight deaths, nine injuries, and affecting over 7,300 people across four districts. Additionally, 450 houses were partially damaged, and 151 were fully destroyed. As adverse weather conditions persisted, over 138,000 people across 14 districts faced the brunt of floods, landslides, and heavy rain.
