Disaster Overview : In October 2015, significant flooding occurred in the Somali region of Ethiopia, particularly impacting the East Imey, Mustahil, and Kelafo woredas of the Shebelle zone. The flooding resulted from the overflow of the Wabe Shebelle River and flash floods. An emergency evacuation to safer grounds was conducted, and a Flood Contingency Plan was released to guide mitigation efforts in flood-risk areas.
