Disaster Overview : On November 29, 2016, St. Vincent and the Grenadines experienced heavy rains that led to severe flooding and landslides. The most affected area was Sandy Bay, but other communities such as Magum, Orange Hill, and Fancy also faced significant impacts. The flooding destroyed homes, affected subsistence crops, and caused serious psychosocial effects among residents. Emergency operations were initiated to assist 400 families with basic needs.
