Disaster Overview : In June 2017, southern China experienced devastating floods and landslides due to heavy rains. Over 7.3 million people were affected, with significant casualties and economic losses reported. A massive landslide in Xinmo village, Sichuan province, resulted in at least 10 deaths and nearly 100 missing persons. The Government and Red Cross provided emergency response and relief assistance, while continued rainfall heightened concerns of further landslides.
