Disaster Overview : Starting from January 5, 2018, Morocco experienced a severe cold wave with temperatures dropping significantly below seasonal norms. Heavy snowfall affected the High Atlas and Middle Atlas regions, causing temperatures to plummet to as low as minus 5°C. This unusual weather pattern led to significant disruptions, particularly in mountainous areas, where roads were cut off, isolating inhabitants and making it difficult for farmers to sustain their livestock.
