Disaster Overview : In March 2019, heavy rains struck the Papua Province of Indonesia, causing severe floods and landslides. The disaster originated from Cyclop Mountain, where landslides hit the riverbed and led to flash floods affecting nine villages in the Sentani sub-district and various parts of Jayapura regency and city. The extreme weather conditions impacted around 11,725 households, displacing thousands and causing numerous casualties.
