Disaster Overview : From December 22 to 26, 2020, heavy rainfall led to severe flooding in parts of Zambia, particularly affecting the Mumbwa district. The downpour on December 26 caused the Kandesha Dam to burst, resulting in extensive flooding in Munengo, Kambobe, Katala, and Chiloweni communities. The floods impacted 500 households, displacing many and causing significant damage to homes and agricultural lands.
