Disaster Overview : From September 22 to 24, 2021, heavy rains led to severe flooding and landslides in the western part of Georgia, particularly in the Autonomous Republic of Adjara and the Guria region. The disaster affected a total of 195,193 people across five municipalities, with 1,780 individuals (445 households) severely impacted. The extreme weather conditions overwhelmed local infrastructure and households' ability to mitigate damages, leading to significant property loss and agricultural damage.
