Disaster Overview : In May 1995, three separate earthquakes of varying magnitudes struck different locations in eastern Indonesia over the span of two days. The first quake, of magnitude 5.7, hit central Sulawesi on May 20, causing injuries and significant damage to property. This was followed by a second quake in Maluku province later the same day, and a third quake in Flores on May 21.
