Disaster Overview : In March and July of 2023, torrential rains led to severe flash floods and landslides in Cameroon's South-West region. On March 18, Buea town experienced flash floods and mudslides from Mount Cameroon, affecting several communities and causing multiple casualties. A subsequent joint mission by humanitarian partners, including UN agencies, assessed urgent needs. Later, in July, the heavy rainfall continued, resulting in additional casualties and damage in Limbe, Fako Division, with five reported deaths and several injuries.
