Disaster Overview : In October 2012, Colombia experienced severe floods, landslides, and avalanches during the year's second rainy season. The most affected departments included Bolivar, Cordoba, North of Santander, Huila, and Atlantico. Over 1,600 houses were damaged, 22 were destroyed, and 10 lives were lost. Authorities were on high alert for further overflow of rivers, floods, and landslides, especially in Magdalena, the Andean region, Pacific, Orinoquia, and Antioquia.
