Disaster Overview : In May 2015, prolonged torrential rains led to severe floods and mudslides in the Khatlon province and the Rasht valley of Tajikistan. Between May 11 and May 13, intense flooding affected approximately 296 families, resulting in the displacement of 1,776 individuals. The floods heavily damaged homes, roads, bridges, schools, and agricultural fields, leaving a substantial portion of the population in urgent need of shelter, food, hygiene and sanitation supplies, and drinking water.
