Disaster Overview : Throughout 2015, the Philippines was strongly affected by a series of severe floods and landslides. Heavy rains in June displaced around 800 people in South Cotobato and Sultan Kudarat and damaged over 1,900 hectares of agricultural land. The situation worsened in July with the southwest monsoon bringing more rains, affecting approximately 42,500 people across several regions. The occurrence of Typhoon Goni in August and Typhoon Koppu in October further exacerbated the disaster situation, causing deaths, injuries, and widespread displacement.
